Erlanger community health center hosts information session on Social Security

Chattanooga, Tenn. – Erlanger Health System community health centers will host an information session on “Social Security 101-Understanding the Basics” at the Dodson Avenue Community Health Center on Wednesday, August 19 beginning at noon.

Many area residents still have questions regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how to enroll in federal assistance programs. As a community service, the Erlanger Southside and Dodson Avenue Community Health Centers are hosting several community education workshops each month focusing on community services and health insurance through the Marketplace.

This month’s workshop will provide attendees the opportunity to learn the latest information on Social Security appeals process and how to file for Social Security benefits.

“Social Security is a key component for retirement benefits and income, yet many people do not fully understand the process,” said Katherlyn Geter, Erlanger Health System ACA Program Manager. “This workshop will allow social security representatives to provide basic information on benefits and answer any questions residents may have.”

The session is free and open to all residents at the Dodson Avenue Community Health Center on 1200 Dodson Avenue. Registration is not required. For more information about the monthly workshops or for ACA answers and/or enrollment assistance, call 423-778-2878.
