Dr. Roger DeVersa joins Academic Internal Medicine

Erlanger Health System welcomes the addition of Roger DeVersa, MD, internal medicine specialist and former Erlanger hospitalist, to the Academic Internal Medicine physician practice.

In addition to seeing new patients at Academic Internal Medicine, Dr. DeVersa will serve as Physician Advisor for Erlanger’s Revenue Integrity Program. Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. DeVersa has earned certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as both a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) and Certified Coding Specialist. In 2013, the Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM) named Dr. DeVersa as a Certified Physician Executive.

“With Dr. DeVersa’s extensive medical background, plus his education and training in medical documentation and coding, we at Erlanger are fortunate to have him on our team,” said Erlanger President and CEO, Kevin M. Spiegel, FACHE.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis, Dr. DeVersa completed an internal medicine residency at the UT College of Medicine Chattanooga, based at Erlanger. He also received advanced fellowship training in infectious diseases from the University of Wisconsin and later earned a MBA degree from UTC.

Dr. DeVersa is now accepting new patients at Academic Internal Medicine, 979 E. Third St., Suite B-601, in the Erlanger Medical Mall. To make an appointment, call 423-778-8179.
