Erlanger provides assistance for March 31 Affordable Care Act enrollment deadline

Erlanger Health System has partnered with American Exchange and the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga to provide even more opportunities for residents to enroll in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

Pursuant to the Affordable Care Act, effective January 1, 2014, most individuals must have health insurance by March 31, 2014.  For those who are self pay or have individual coverage, they may find health insurance can be more affordable by enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace.  In fact, low-to-mid-income families can also qualify for tax credits to help cover the premiums.

To kick off the last month to register for health insurance, Erlanger has scheduled more information sessions and enrollment opportunities March 3-7.  Enrollment week will take place at:

Erlanger Medical Mall, March 3, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Southside Community Health Center, March 4, noon-3 p.m.

Dodson Avenue Community Health Center, March 4, 5-8 p.m.

Erlanger Bledsoe, March 5, 8 a.m.4 p.m. CST

Sequatchie County Courthouse, March 6, noon-5 p.m. CST

Erlanger East March 7, 1-5 p.m

As the region’s largest healthcare system, Erlanger’s mission is to assist local residents in applying for or selecting the best health insurance plan so their future medical expenses will be covered.  Erlanger’s Certified Application Counselors, as well as navigators from the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga and representatives from American Exchange, will be available at each site to help attendees navigate through enrollment either in person or through the American Exchange call center.

Appointments are required to enroll.  Participants can call 423-778-LINK (5465) to make an appointment.  Those who are unable to attend the enrollment week, Erlanger’s Certified Application Counselors are also available to meet with them now through March 31.  To schedule an appointment, call 423-778-LINK (5465).
