Join Erlanger Health System and the UT Erlanger Physicians Group for “Your Prescription for Health,” a three week women’s health lecture series, at the Erlanger East Campus. Fact or Fiction – Common Myths and Misconceptions of Hormone Replacement Therapy
Dr. Michael Sprague, OB-GYN with UT Erlanger Women’s Health Specialists, will review some of the common myths and misconceptions of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). He’ll review who is a candidate for HRT, as well as the benefits and risks involved in taking HRT.

Dr. Michael Sprague received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Medical Degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and continued his training at the University of Louisville. Prior to join UT-Erlanger Women’s Health Services, Dr. Sprague completed his fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the Women’s Surgery Center.

Hypothyroidism vs. Hyperthyroidism – What are the signs and symptoms?
Dr. Susie Estes, endocrinologist with UT Erlanger Endocrinology will describe the differences between Hypo and Hyperthyroidism, including the signs, symptoms, and available treatment options. She’ll also discuss what “THS” – thyroid stimulating hormone – means.

Dr. Estes received her undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas and continued her training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Prior to joining UT Erlanger Endocrinology, Dr. Estes received her fellowship training in endocrinology from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Stress – It’s a Woman’s World
Dr. Susan Rapp, adult medicine physician with UT Erlanger Physicians Group, will discuss stress and the impact – both physical and psychological – it has on a woman’s health. She’ll also help identify ways women can lower their stress levels.

Dr. Rapp received her Medical Degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. She continued her training at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. Prior to joining Erlanger, Dr. Rapp worked as an adult medicine physician with Kaiser-Permanente at their Park Shadelands Facility in Walnut Creek, California. While at Kaiser-Permanente, Dr. Rapp also served as Co-Chairperson of the Diagnostic Imaging Utilization Management Committee, and served as a Physician Ambassador.
