2015 was a year of growth for LIFE FORCE Air Medical. After relocating the LIFE FORCE 1 helicopter to Cleveland, Tennessee, a fifth helicopter — located in Winchester, Tennessee — was added to the fleet, bringing even more rapid response power to the region.
LIFE FORCE helicopters are able to not only transport patients, but their highly-trained crews can also perform life-saving surgical procedures in flight. Each helicopter is equipped with cardiac monitors, ultrasound technology, snake bite treatment, and even blood and plasma products to assist in emergency care.
In addition to the new locations, LIFE FORCE has three other bases of operation throughout the region making it possible to serve residents within a 150-mile radius of Chattanooga. Headquartered at Erlanger’s downtown location, 975 East Third Street, Chattanooga, Tenn., LIFE FORCE also provides air medical transport from bases in Sparta, Tenn., and Calhoun and McCaysville, Ga. This massive radius of coverage allowed the LIFE FORCE program to transport more than 2,100 patients to and from Erlanger last year.
