This week, the Erlanger Health System board of trustees approved the sale of the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center at 325 Market Street. Area residents currently participating in any of the Erlanger programs offered at the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center may continue to do so.
A new location for those rehab, wellness and educational services will be announced later this year, according to an Erlanger official.
“We want to assure all those enrolled in any Erlanger program at the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center that there will be no disruption of service due to the sale of this building,” said Erlanger Chief Nursing Officer Dr. Jan Keys. “Anyone who currently participates in Erlanger’s cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation programs, in addition to our diabetes education, weight management, T’ai Chi or yoga classes will be able to continue with these services, with the same instructors and staff.”
The Erlanger executive said that the due diligence period following the sale of the downtown property is expected to be 120 days. “Meanwhile classes and programs at the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center will continue, and a new location for those services will be determined and announced later this year,” Dr. Keys said.
“Our objective in selling this building was to eliminate the costs associated with debt and operating expenses,” Dr. Keys said, “but we want to assure the community that they can continue to depend on Erlanger and our highly-trained, professional staff for rehabilitation and wellness services and programs.”
Glad they told the city of Chattanooga before they told the employees that work at the Lifestyle Center. Nice way to treat employees.
