Erlanger’s LIFE FORCE crew goes pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Chattanooga, Tenn. – Staff members of Erlanger Health System’s air medical service, LIFE FORCE, are not only wearing their signature blue flight suits and khaki pants when not on flight duty, they have also added pink during October to recognize all those who have been touched by breast cancer.

“We know several individuals in our 80 member staff who have had a family member or a friend affected by breast cancer,” said Robbie Tester, LIFE FORCE service line administrator.  “As a program that is visible in the community providing medical services and support to the region, we wanted to show support to our colleagues who care for breast cancer patients and to those who are dear to us who have or had breast cancer.”

Not only are flight crew members from all four LIFE FORCE bases, McCaysville and Calhoun, Ga. and Chattanooga and Sparta, Tenn., wearing pink, but also the maintenance crew, communication specialists in the Medical Communications Center and LIFE FORCE office staff.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is an annual campaign in October to increase awareness and funding for breast cancer research and services.   To learn more about Erlanger’s Breast Cancer services, please visit www.erlanger.org/cancer.
