This blog provides consumers with news, health and wellness information, educational video, audio, and graphic resources from Erlanger Health System. This blog seeks to provide access to information from the many physicians and clinical experts and health leaders affiliated with Erlanger Health System and its academic partner, the University of Tennessee College of Medicine.

Posting Frequency

News stories will be posted as they arise. Educational content will be posted as resources become available.  Posts do occur often, so check back frequently for updates or subscribe to our RSS feed (a link can be found on each page).

Erlanger encourages your comments, participation and feedback on our blog posts and social networking sites. We will maintain a high standard of professionalism in what we post and ask that you do the same. Comments that are off-topic, profane, expose patient privacy, or promote a commercial interest are not be approved for posting and will be removed.

Keep in mind that when you post a comment to a blog, it is available for the world to see. For your own privacy, do not post detailed personal medical information linked to your name.

Moderation of this blog occurs during business hours. We will not be able to post comments during the weekend or off hours.

By posting any comments, posts or other material on Erlanger-sponsored blogs or social networking sites, you give Erlanger the irrevocable right to reproduce, distribute, publish, display, edit, create derivative works from, and otherwise use your submission for any purpose in any form and on any media.

Comments: Monitoring, Editing, Rejection and Removal

To protect patient privacy and ensure that comments are appropriate for all audiences, Erlanger Health System and/or its authorized agents will review all posts and comments within an appropriate timeframe.  Posts or comments may be approved, rejected or removed at the discretion of Erlanger Health System. The following posts or comments are subject to rejection or removal:

  • Comments that include first and last names, locations or other personal or patient information.
  • Comments that are profane, racist, sexist, derogatory, defamatory, threatening or embarrassing to any other person or entity.
  • Advertisements or solicitations, commercial endeavors and/or appeals for funds not approved by Erlanger Health System.
  • Comments that impersonate another person.
  • Comments that are off-topic or SPAM.

Comments will not be edited for typos, spelling errors or grammar.

Requests to delete comments prior to posting maybe sent to feedback@erlanger.org.

Finally, by posting to any Erlanger blog or social media page you agree that you will indemnify Erlanger against any damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, costs or expenses (including attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of a claim by a third party relating to any material you have posted.
