Rachel Newmyer, RN has joined our team here at Erlanger Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center. She has been a registered nurse for 11 years, 7 of them in bariatric medicine with Dr. Rutledge. We are excited she has joined our team, bringing her
knowledge of patient care and passion for bariatric patients to help navigate you your journey. Her “Dear Navigator” section will appear in newsletters, to answer many of the pressing questions of the patients. In addition to the “Dear Navigator” she will post FAQ’s, frequently asked questions, on our Erlanger.org/weightloss. Daniel Cronk, Jr.
Dr. Dan Cronk received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. After completing his general surgery internship and residency at the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, he served as a general and bariatric surgeon in the United States Army. Dr. Cronk has performed more than 700 bariatric stapling procedures. His clinical areas of expertise include bariatric laparoscopic surgery. He specializes in laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy, and has experience with the managment of duodenal switch and intragastric balloon placement surgeries. Prior to joining Erlanger, Dr. Cronk was the primary bariatric surgeon with the Methodist Bariatric Surgery Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
