On Monday, October 12, Erlanger leaders, Bradley County dignitaries, media, and local visitors gathered for the groundbreaking of the new LIFE FORCE Air Medical hangar in Cleveland, Tennessee.
This year’s earlier addition of a base in Winchester, Tennessee and a fifth helicopter to the LIFE FORCE fleet now make it possible to move the LIFE FORCE One helicopter to Bradley County. The result will be faster transportation to Erlanger’s Level One trauma center from Bradley County, rural Hamilton County, and other surrounding areas.
LIFE FORCE helicopters are able to not only transport patients, but also deliver life-saving medical care onboard. Each helicopter is equipped with cardiac monitors, ultrasound technology, snake bite treatment, and even plasma to assist in emergency care.
Transporting more than 2,100 patients via helicopter to and from Erlanger last year, LIFE FORCE provides emergency transport from bases in Sparta, Tennessee, and Calhoun and Blue Ridge, Georgia, in addition to the new Cleveland and Winchester bases.
