Chattanooga, Tenn. – The Arts at Erlanger committee is searching for an individual who has experience in the art community and is interested in archiving and updating inventory of existing and new artwork within the Erlanger Health System.
The new curator for the “Healing through the Arts” initiative will assist the committee in creating a new atmosphere for patients and their guests at all Erlanger facilities.
“Our objective with the new initiative is to enhance the spaces at our campuses with artwork from our many talented local artists,” said committee co-chair, Judy Spiegel. “We have already acquired some incredible art for the oncology area at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. Those pieces were generously donated by the Christian Bryant Foundation.”
As Erlanger continues to receive contributions from local artisans, the committee realizes there is a strong need to ensure all items are recorded properly and are enjoyed by everyone for years to come.
“The committee is looking for someone who has the knowledge of developing an art log and has a degree in art history, museum studies, or a related field,” said committee co-chair, Martica Lambiase.
Individuals interested in volunteering their talents and time, and have a strong belief in art making a difference in the lives Erlanger touches, are asked to call 423-778-7373 or email Dee.Hardin@erlanger.org.
