Erlanger Health System and UT Erlanger Cardiology are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Robert L. Huang to its team of 11 board-certified cardiologists. UT Erlanger Cardiology provides specialists in interventional procedures, electrophysiology, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Huang earned his Undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He continued his training with the VA Quality Scholars Fellowship where he had extra training in quality improvement and outcomes research. During that time, he also earned a Masters in Public Health and helped established a regional STEMI network for Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute which led to a significant reduction in their door-to-balloon time.
Dr. Huang went on to complete Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology Fellowships at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to joining UT Erlanger Cardiology, Dr. Huang has completed over 750 interventions during his fellowship and received advanced training in peripheral and structural procedures, as well as transradial procedures.
He is a member of the American Heart Association, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and has also been published in medical journals and textbooks including the Journal of Invasive Cardiology and Hurst’s The Heart: Manual of Cardiology. He is currently board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine and is board-eligible in interventional cardiology.
