It’s more than a diet – it’s a lifestyle change

In January, 2016 I decided that it was time I did something about my health. I was miserable and had no desire to do much of anything. I knew I had to lose some weight. This was nothing new to me as I have struggled with my weight all my life. This time though, it was different. I had a strong motivation to finally lose the weight and not give up. I made it known to my family and friends that I was going to do it, but with it being January when everyone says they want to become healthier, and my previous attempts at weight loss, I am not sure how many people actually believed me! But after the first month of my “diet”, I shocked myself by losing 19.7 lbs!

The months went on, and I kept losing until October when I fell off the wagon for several months. I gained back some of the weight, and became upset with myself. Once again, I had failed. I prayed for guidance. Doors were closed and new ones opened which lead me to Erlanger Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Center. This was my miracle! Talk about motivation, when you are faced with health and weight loss daily. I am so very thankful for my new endeavor and my awesome coworkers! I quickly learned “my diet” was no diet, it was a lifestyle change. I have since lost more weight and started strength training. I am not where I want to be, but so much further than where I used to be. You can do it too. You are worth it!
