Erlanger receives top honors for advertising, ranking among nation’s best

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Erlanger Health System marketing team has been recognized for outstanding advertising efforts in two national healthcare marketing award competitions. Erlanger, the nation’s ninth largest public health system, earned awards for four different advertising projects.

Erlanger received two Silver awards from the 2014 Aster Awards Program, an elite national competition recognizing outstanding excellence in healthcare advertising. Erlanger’s print ad, “Bike/X-ray,” which focuses on the hospital’s orthopedic surgery services, won the Silver award in the magazine advertising category, and a bus wrap featuring Children’s Hospital at Erlanger won in the outdoor transit category. Winning entries, judged by a diverse panel of experts, were published in the Marketing Healthcare Today magazine.

Erlanger’s advertising efforts were also recognized by the Thirtieth Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the leading publication covering all aspects of healthcare marketing, advertising and strategic business development. Erlanger received the Gold award for its “Upside Down” television commercial featuring the hospital’s cancer treatment services, and a bronze award for the print magazine ad, “Swimmer/Scram,” which highlights its sports medicine program.

“We are honored to be recognized, not only for the world-class programs we offer, but also for the efforts of our marketing team in showcasing Erlanger’s important services,” said Kevin M. Spiegel, FACHE, Erlanger President & CEO.
Over 4,000 entries were received in this year’s Healthcare Advertising Awards competition from every state in the country and multiple foreign countries. Erlanger’s award-winning ads were produced by the Johnson Group, a Chattanooga-based advertising agency.
