Dr. Chris Sanborn Joins Erlanger’s Surgical Weight Loss Center

Chattanooga, TN – Erlanger Health System is pleased to welcome Dr. Chris Sanborn as the new medical director of the Surgical Weight Loss Center at Erlanger, located on Market Street in downtown Chattanooga, within the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center.  

 Dr. Sanborn, board-certified and fellowship trained in general surgery, received his degree with honors from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee and completed his internship and residency from Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington.

 Prior to joining the Surgical Weight Loss Center, Dr. Sanborn served as Chief of General Surgery at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he also served as the founder and director of the Bariatric Surgery Program. During his time in the military, Dr. Sanborn also served as a general and trauma during multiple deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 The Surgical Weight Loss Center at Erlanger is located within the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center and assists individuals in achieving lasting results through emotional, nutritional and medical support before and after weight loss surgery. Through both medical and surgical weight loss solutions, participants are provided with the finest support from a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, psychologist and exercise physiologists.
